A seasonal lifestyle blog
A love letter to style, heirloom recipes, creative pursuits, motherhood, and life’s little joys through my camera lens.
Inlet Mornings
The cadence of vacation is so warmly predictable. It looks similar every day, with perhaps a little variation depending on the weather. The days start with a quiet rise and meet-up for the coffee-goers. If we’re sleepy, we doze on the couches as the sun rises. We meander to clean out our mugs, hop in the car, or else walk, to get our coffees. After that', it’s a few hours of adventure.
Decoration Notes
I have had this post saved in my drafts forever! What I envisioned for this post was to share my taste in decoration, and to show off some of our current accents around our home. But I am realizing that making a home doesn’t just happen. It takes years and time - acquiring pieces, creating stories around them, and finding the pieces that tell a story. Sometimes these pieces are heirlooms, or they are investments. So this wasn’t the kind of post I could rush.
Currently
It is June, it is June! Yipee! I promised myself that this month, I would be ultra-present and conscious of my intentions. It is already HALFWAY through the year. How? HOW!? I wanted to mark the beginning of the month, and half-way point of 2019, by doing another currently post. I haven’t done one of these in a while. Just to share some thoughts, favorites, and feelings as of late. So, here we go!
My First Garden
I am gushing with happiness at my far-from perfect garden. I have been so focused on what I don’t have: perfectly manicured flower beds, eclectic and thoughtfully repurposed antique finds, or seasoned perennials that promise blooms to come.
Golden Marble Easter Eggs
There are always so many pretty easter eggs on pinterest, it’s hard to not think, “I want to do that!” So on top of my go-to Paas egg dying kit, I bought this gold paint to gild our pretty little eggs. Uhh, by the way, we bought 48 eggs…a little ambitious!
Snow Day
On our snow day today, I got outside and took some exterior portraits of our house. Inside, we’ve made so many strides with fixing it up, including an almost-complete kitchen and some new key investments like light fixtures and furniture. Outside, I feel it is stately enough to stand the test of time.
