Wedding Seating Chart Mirror
When I was approached about doing my first seating chart, I knew that I would be challenged because it was a first. Having designed wedding welcome signs for years now, I knew that my first seating chart would ideally be on a mirror. And this mirror was certainly so, so special - it was an heirloom, a piece belonging to the grandmother of the bride. I felt so honored that I was entrusted with this treasure. I was so happy with how it turned out, and I learned a lot about how to properly envision and plan for a seating chart.
Autumn on the Island
This tradition is something I am falling more and more in love with - autumn on the island. It is sleepier, quieter, less frantic and more true. Everything feels clearer - the sunrises, the breeze from the sea, and even the night stillness.
Summer Moments in Review
I always love a general summertime post, so here it is. I can’t believe it is “summer in review,” though. August always has this vibe of being the end! There is still a lot of summer left, and still a lot to do on the list. It has been an oddly busy yet slow summer - I can’t even explain how the slowness feels fast. I think a big part of the slowdown was bringing Rosie into our family - she makes me be present and thoughtful and appreciative, which is something I didn’t take into account into my expectations for being a puppy owner.
Meet Our Little Rosie
As I type this, I have a little (rambunctious!) puppy curled up in my lap, chewing on the fringe of my blanket! Our little Rosie joined our family last week, and honestly our world has been turned upside down but in all good ways. There is nothing more FUN than seeing this little face every day.
LBI 2019
LBI 2019 was one of my favorite vacations in the house where we stay. It lived up to all of my hopes and expectations: ice cream cones, late night lightning storms, foggy mornings, and an abundance of ships to be spotted out at sea. This could be said of any place…but traveling to the coast inspires such a wanderlust and curiosity in me, always has.
Inlet Mornings
The cadence of vacation is so warmly predictable. It looks similar every day, with perhaps a little variation depending on the weather. The days start with a quiet rise and meet-up for the coffee-goers. If we’re sleepy, we doze on the couches as the sun rises. We meander to clean out our mugs, hop in the car, or else walk, to get our coffees. After that', it’s a few hours of adventure.
