A seasonal lifestyle blog
A love letter to style, heirloom recipes, creative pursuits, motherhood, and life’s little joys through my camera lens.
My Vintage Typewriter
There wasn’t a distinct moment when I decided I wanted a typewriter, but I’ve always imagined typing my memoirs on a vintage 1950s Underwood. I have an appreciation for these odd types of things, and I think it stems from the typewriter I’d “play” with as a kid in my grandfather’s basement. Now that I have my own, I wanted to introduce it to the world of A. Taylor Studio…
From Waco to Hico to Abliene
This blog post title has a ring do it, no!? We traveled mighty far in Texas, a grand total of 16+ hours or something like that. Can't even count the miles! But we started in Dallas, ended up in Fort Davis, and Waco, Hico and Abilene were some of our most memorable stops. My mom and I are good travelers together; we've shared many road trips. And they come with bizarre stories, they truly do!
Trip to the Magnolia Silos
Chip and Jo really have created a little haven in the Magnolia Silos! On a trip to Texas for a workshop, my mom (aka partner in crime) and I made a little side-trip to head down to Waco, TX. With the intention to walk around, grab a cupcake, and see what all the hype was about, we really did feel that this little corner is delightful (and very instagrammable).
Skinny Shrimp: Easy Weeknight Dinner, 2 Ways
Shrimp was something I’ve always been hesitant to try cooking…fearing that I’d overdo it, mess it up, and waste a bunch of money. But recently it has become one of my favorite go-to light dinners. I am sharing two ways to cook shrimp, with two totally different tastes, as easy weeknight dinners. Buon appetito!
LBI 2018: Height of Summer
LBI 2018 was one for the books! The week was dominated by oppressive July humidity, but it truly was a delightful vacation anyway. In a way, the weather outside forced us to take it slow and really relax.
Home Decor Wish List
As you may know, we're searching for our 1st home together and right now I have all things "home decor" on the brain! I am really lusting after some of these items, but I wanted to share a couple that I actually already have and love. The thing is, when you're starting out, you want to pick classic items that have a nice balance of timelessness and modernity.
