Sweet Apple Rose Tortes
The taste of apples baked in brown sugar and cinammon will always remind me of my grandmother's house, where six large apple trees lined her backyard. We'd pick good apples, throw bad ones as far away as possible, and watch for deer to come and eat them. This little batch of delightful rose-shaped tortes was so fun to make, I wanted to share some thoughts behind the process (along with the recipe).

Spring Refresh
This spring seems to be bringing new changes along with it, all good changes that I am welcoming with open arms! It has been a tough winter. TOUGH. Not only has it been cold and snowy, but there have been many times when I've felt so stretched thin. But the promise of some new changes is bringing a renewed sense of hope, and gratefulness. So I wanted to offer a glimpse of some favorite moments so far this spring, including current favorites and goings-on.

#PaperDogCardExchange Calligraphy
It was a fun way to get some pretty snail mail and see beautiful calligraphy from all sorts of talented letters. For my cards, I used pink and red inspiration and vellum. For my envelopes, rich gold and white text with loopy, whimsical calligraphy.

Elegant Custom Grey Suite | Inner and Outer Envelopes
This project was so fun and unique because the bride opted for inner and outer envelopes. I'll be honest, I don't see that a lot as a calligrapher - but having both inner and outer envelopes addressed for your guests is such a classic touch.

Coffee Diaries | South Down Coffee
We decided to explore the town of Oyster Bay, a short drive away from Sagamore Hill. Everything was so quaint in the snow, and the surroundings almost begged us to slow down and appreciate the tranquility. Nevertheless, I was driving, flustered with Google Maps, and decided to just have my mom search for the nearest coffee place that sounded good. Finding South Down Coffee was serendipitous.

Maui Edit Part II: Upcountry
The upcountry, in all of its wild nature, was what complete our trip to Maui - it is an unmistakably different feel from the rest of the island. The foreign-looking flowers and mimosa trees, the ranches and farms, and all of the windy hills are what make the upcountry so rugged. It's like an untouched microcosm that is so different from the resorts on the rest of the island.
