A seasonal lifestyle blog
A love letter to style, heirloom recipes, creative pursuits, motherhood, and life’s little joys through my camera lens.
Amalfi Dreaming
Imagine being able to stay in a luxury hotel overlooking the Amalfi Coast. Or the Italian Riviera. Or of the canals of Venice. Or the blackened beaches of Sicily. I imagine this classy, head-scarf donning beauty not only exquisitely dressed, but breathing in scents of sea salt and jasmine, about to tuck into a morning cornetto and espresso doppio.
1 Year of Rosie
The day we brought home Rosie, one year ago today, was one of the happiest days of my life. I remember the feeling of knowing, even then, that it was more than sweet, or cute, or delightful. We were bringing home a bundle of joy, and there was a palpable nostalgia.
Cut-Flower Garden Adventures (Hydrangeas)
I’ve always thought they were pretty, but in the sense of admiring them from afar. They grow without bounds at the shore, especially at Long Beach Island, but I’ve never appreciated their beauty here in this less-salty, inland climate. I have such a newfound appreciation for them in my garden, because of their generosity and artfulness. Each cluster of buds seems to turn a different purple, blue or pink through the weeks and it is delightful to guess what I will get.
Almond Biscotti
I was pleasantly surprised to find out how quick and easy (and stress-free) it was to bake my own biscotti. Even more so, the list of ingredients was manageable and it yielded almost 20 biscotti! I might have eaten a few out of the oven…but I can’t remember…I think I did.
Summer Wishlist
Whenever a new season rolls around, I always get the urge to create a little inspo board or wishlist of some items I’m currently coveting. And now that we have spent several months at home, my wishlist is dominated by house-related decor!
Cut-Flower Garden Adventures {Peonies}
As a new-ish homeowner, I stand firmly by the belief that Year 1 is meant to “get to know” your surroundings - your garden, the type of light it gets, the composition of your soil, what kind of pests you’re dealing with - Year 1 it is a time to observe. So now that I am almost a 2-year homeowner, I felt more confident knowing where I wanted to situate my cut-flower garden.
