The Sleepy Girl Mocktail

Who doesn’t want better sleep!? Do yourself a favor and try out this mocktail a couple hours before you start winding down for the night. I treasure my nightly routine, and this mocktail has definitely become a part of it several nights a week. My take on the viral Sleepy Girl mocktail is perfect for a relaxing girl’s night, or an elevated version of your regular non-alcoholic nightcap. It features only four ingredients and the science behind this drink is fascinating.

The powerhouse ingredient combo in this drink is the tart cherry juice and magnesium powder, both of which work together to promote a deeper restorative sleep. The biggest thing I’ve noticed after taking this magnesium for several weeks, I have noticed that the quality of my sleep has improved. I just simply toss and turn less, and I feel like I have slept DEEPLY. It feels like tension melts away from my jaw, shoulders and neck. I wake up rested, and that is honestly all I want!

What this drink DIDN’T do was knock me out cold 😂 so, no need to worry there. This just promotes sleep! I love it because it helps my body to relax, shed the stress of the day, and I get to skip the buzz and exhaustion that alcohol can bring.


THE SLEEPY GIRL MOCKTAIL | Serves 2

• 1/4 cup tart cherry juice 🍒

• 1 scoop magnesium ~ equates to 200 grams (I like this brand - it actually has a hint of a lemon lime flavor which is perfect for this drink. Check the nutrition facts. This brand’s daily value of magnesium is 48% in one serving!)

• juice of 1 lime

• top with prebiotic soda (I like Olipop lemon lime, available at Target)

In a shaker or glass, combine lime juice, tart cherry juice, and magnesium. Stir until the powder is dissolved. Add your ice and top with your prebiotic soda! You can also swap out the soda for club soda or sparkling water. You can garnish with Maldon flaky sea salt, a sprig of rosemary, and a lime like I did here.
