As we approach our one year anniversary, I thought I'd share some of my favorite photos from our wedding. There are literally thousands of amazing photos from our photographer, Samantha Jay, but these have stood out as some of my all-time favorites. Everything from our October day was beautiful, and aside from some funny typical wedding-day hijinks that went on, it was perfect. Some wedding facts...

  • Our bridesmaids dress color was called "quartz," but it was more of a dusty rose.

  • All the calligraphy was done by myself! Shameless plug!

  • My moms and sisters hand picked the mums and pumpkins that decorated the steps where we said our vows.

  • On my right hand, I wore my mom's gold wedding band and a new silver ring which I bought (I also got an identical one for my mom for the wedding).

  • Something old: To be funny, I picked a pin that was tucked in the layers of my dress to commemorate the 1917 Russian Revolution, which had happened 100 years earlier.

  • Something new: Earrings

  • Something borrowed: My mom's wedding band

  • Something blue: my shoes had a gorgeous blue lining.

  • One regret: We didn't get a ring picture on the day of!

  • After the ceremony, my bustle simply would not hold up! So most of the night I went on holding my train!

  • We got married on a beautiful 18th century estate in New Hope, PA. We got to spend the night and had the best time in the old stone barn with our families. The next morning, we had croissant french toast - to die for!

  • For my hair, the one thing I was adamant about was having roses in my hair. My florist did not recommend it, because they are heavy and would most likely fall out. But I thought they worked great and they looked beautiful!

  • Our flower girl, E, was so wonderful (not to mention adorable beyond words). She walked down the aisle dropping rose petals ONE AT A TIME until she reached her seat up front, where she proceeded to dump the entire basket of petals at her feet. It was the funniest and cutest moment and broke the tension!

The day was my version of perfect. Cool, brisk weather, low-drama atmosphere, and a classic Bucks County backdrop with all of my favorite people in my presence. That's what it is all about!  My vendors all did a great job and some of them truly knocked it out of the park - such as our photographer, florist, and of course, the venue.
