I am so predictable — when September starts, a switch goes off. I find myself pulling on a much too heavy sweater, dreaming of rustling leaves, stacks of books, piping tea pots, and yearning for the academic life. I recently visited to Princeton to scratch this particular itch. It was a perfect short visit, just a coffee stop and stroll, with no expectations other than to enjoy the cooler air and snap a few pictures. It was surprisingly quiet on campus given that the semester is about to begin.

We started our walk around Palmer Square, which is the best for window shopping and admiring the town’s very best shops. After a quick stop at Maman, we crossed the street and gazed at the stunning tableau of the university grounds. There is something so eternally timeless about an ivy-covered building facade with ancient arched windows. This is one way I feed my hunger for inspiration - just getting outside in a new scene for a leisurely walk, with new surroundings that both inspire and evoke wonder.

My back-to-school to-do list is miles long, but I think it is just as big of a priority to really lean into finding inspiration. That is exactly what this little college visit did! Sure - it may have hit 96 degrees this week, but I am totally in sweater mode. This little visit to Princeton It was a perfect culmination of life’s little luxuries: knitwear, a breezy campus walk, good (hot) coffee, and even better company.

Ciao, xo!
