I have been meaning to post about this goals list - in my head it was going to publish way earlier, but here we are at the end of June. I love that it still feels like the beginning of summer. I am taking G to swim lessons and meeting so many sweet new “mom friends” and they all seem to be in the same mindset that me that the summer is still fully ahead of us, with lots of long warm days to come. This summer has certainly gotten off to a rocky start, especially the end of June — including a flat tire, pink eye, ripping my favorite jeans, losing my wallet in Target and throwing a hysterical fit (we found it in the mens department - I left it there) and of course, walking headfirst into the monkeybars at G’s favorite playground. Oy. It has been a rough few days but it has made June feel like a nice long month. We celebrated S’s birthday, Father’s Day, the end of the school year, and that feels like centuries ago.

I doubt any readers here go back to the 2010s when I started this blog - back then it had the title Anticipation because it’s one of my favorite feelings/moods ever. The beginning of the summer always cradles a very real sense of anticipation, and there is nothing quite like it. Being in charge of G full time, who is now 18 months, is certainly letting me re-live my own fun childhood experiences and joy. I can think of a zillion chores, to-do list items, and desires I have, but I love that G changes the entire dynamic of a summer at home. We spend more time outside than I have done in a great long while, regardless of weather. She loves the rain and humidity and sunny weather all the same. I have never been this active perhaps besides the summers I spent in Italy traveling all around Europe in 2011 and 2013.

We have so much to look forward to. Beach trips, exciting creative and professional work, family time. What more could I ask for?

ciao, xo
