There are so many options beyond flat or folded paper place cards! I am able to work on many surfaces, so let me know if you have something special in mind. See this post for my favorite surfaces.

A. Taylor Studio can provide recommendations on where to purchase your wedding paper! Because every situation is different in this custom calligraphy world, there is no standard "go to."

Sometimes, brides offer me the envelopes that came with the invitation suite they purchased online. That is fine (actually, great!) and I am more than happy to write on whatever you have.

I can also provide 2-3 ideas for you from my paper sources, ask for your choice, then purchase and ship the paper directly to my studio for a small fee.

Etiquette Reminders (for formal events)

Envelopes are the first piece of your invitation suite your guests will see! A. Taylor Studio follows traditional addressing etiquette when writing your guests' addresses:

  • Full Names - this is a great resource from Shutterfly to get an idea of the rules of wedding addressing.

  • Fully Written Titles (i.e. "The Honorable, Doctor, Colonel"), Locations/States (i.e. "Pennsylvania" instead of "PA", or "Apartment" instead of "Apt")

Place Cards include Titles and up to 2 Full Names

  • Traditional: 'Mr. and Mrs. John Doe'

  • Modern: 'John and Jane' or "John and Jane Doe'

Please note that A. Taylor Studio does not currently handle stamping or mailing envelopes. When mailing, I recommended requesting the post office to "hand cancel" the envelopes.
